Ali Potter, MSW, LICSW is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. She has particular interest working with children (5+), adolescents, adults, and families.
As human beings, we are driven towards inner balance, and many things in life can impact functioning and offset balance. Therefore, Ali incorporates a variety of therapeutic modalities to support clients in regaining equilibrium and experience healing. She has completed training in EMDR, which is utilized to treat trauma, anxiety, and a variety of topics. She is continually undergoing training for sandplay, incorporates mindfulness work, and utilizes a variety of experiential interventions. She emphasizes the importance of client-centered care, a trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship, a safe environment, and a collaborative approach, where clients experience inner healing, worthiness, growth, symptom management, and live authentically.
Ali has worked in a variety of settings including: outpatient, school-based, residential treatment centers, and in-home therapy.
She has experience treating clients who have experienced anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral concerns, eating concerns and eating disorders, grief and loss, and adjustments.
Ali holds an undergraduate degree in psychology from Aquinas College, and a master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of St. Thomas and St. Catherine University.
