Jeanne Abicht is a clinical social worker who has experience in outpatient psychotherapy, DBT group facilitation, and inpatient social work. Jeanne is passionate about providing a strength-based, non-judgmental, and collaborative space for people to explore emotional difficulties, adjustment challenges, life transitions, grief, trauma, and relationship concerns. She believes in people’s intrinsic strength and courage in exploring new possibilities and developing healthy coping strategies.
Jeanne works with adolescents and adults. Areas of focus include: mood, anxiety, adjustment issues, grief and loss, trauma, suicidal ideation, self-injurious behavior, Autism spectrum, identity development, perfectionism, executive functioning, relationships, parenting, sleep issues, shame, and issues of self-worth. She provides ongoing coordination of care with other professionals and will assist you in finding additional resources that may support your mental health needs.
Jeanne utilizes a variety of therapeutic orientations including: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Grief Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief (SFBT), Family Systems, and Feminist Therapy.
Jeanne is a native Wisconsinite. In her free time, Jeanne enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and Golden Retriever, Maeve. Jeanne also enjoys spending time with friends, reading, music, travel, coffee, and Wisconsin sports.
